Protest Slogans of International Women's Movements

The invention of the typewriter marked the beginning of the era of modern office work. Even though typists and secretaries were menial jobs, this invention started a professional career for many women and allowed them to earn income. The typewriter was also used to produce leaflets and protest pamphlets.

In a magazine made of white cotton fabric, I quote 42 feminist protest slogans from the history of the international women's movement. The quotes were written on a typewriter made by Olympia in the late 1950s.
