THIS IS A HOUSE

Since 1988 Mr Osman has been constructing his house with a hand saw and a battery-powered drill. He has been building his house without permission. He looks after his garden and sells vegetables on the market. In the house you have running cold water but no electricity supply. He moved there at the end of 2004. Before German reunification the house was in Kreuzberg (West Berlin) on a piece of land which was officially managed by the City Council of East Berlin. So neither the City Council of West Berlin nor of East Berlin cared about his house on the three-cornered roundabout
